Has anyone ever owned or known anyone who has had a Belgian Malinois shepherd ?
I met some Belgian Malinois and their handlers at a charity function. They were used for search and rescue, so they had to like people or they’d hurt the person they were supposed to rescue. At the event, there were all kinds of people talking to them and petting them and generally acting like people do. The dogs were incredibly accepting of it all. And completely loyal and obedient to their handlers – even if someone was giving the dog a treat, one word from the handler and he’d leave it. They seemed like truly wonderful dogs. The search and rescue folks said they’d never use anything else, after having these dogs.
