Has anyone had back surgery to relieve a slipped disk/trapped nerve at L4/L5?

I had 2 discs removed in April 1983 from lower lumbar region 4 & 5. Three months of physio and I was back to work driving my truck. You learn how much you can and can’t do before hurting yourself. I have now got scar tissue growing on the nerve in my spine in the area where the surgery was. I have been this way for 13 years now. There is pain of varying degrees but you learn to live with it after a while. I am on Morphine and a handful of other medication, I rattle when I walk lol. Walking is one of the best things for you. I have two dogs that I walk 4 times a day. Not for long walks just about 8 minutes out and then return so no more that 20 minutes max. I hope this gives you some kind of an idea how it is for me, might be totally different for you though. Ask your doc or surgeon for your answer and good luck.
