Has anyone had nicotine withdrawal symptoms and how long will it last? Can it last for months or years?

11 weeks of not smoking is awesome. Way to go. Most people take a average of twelve weeks to start to really feel like themselves. Because nicotine takes over certain processes in the body, it takes time for the body to take those processes back. Don't worry, your body is healing and you will feel normal again. Stick with it. I used water mixed with cranberry juice to help keep my blood sugar level and that helps reduce some withdrawal symptoms, also drinking milk at night helps to sleep a little better. I read milk and a carbohydrate like cookies is good to help sleep. You will be normal again, and free of cravings and withdrawal. Been there and done that. It will be so great for you when the withdrawal lessens, so hang in there as you are almost free. I did a lot of walking to deal with my withdrawal and it seemed to help a lot. Any exercise really cuts cravings and withdrawal. Also you should cut your caffeine consumption to half of what it was when you were smoking. Nicotine ...  more
