Any connection between local rainfall and the timing of releases from Lake Granbury this year is purely coincidental. From April through July, the release pattern from Lake Granbury was essentially the same each week with or without any local rainfall. You can observe this release pattern in the downstream USGS Brazos River near Glen Rose stream gage record. Beginning in August, the release pattern from Lake Granbury changed due to operations at Lake Whitney when the Brazos River Authoritys storage space in that reservoir was fully exhausted.
