Has the RA received requests from any of the island administrations for 3G licences (paragraph 2.2.6 of the Information Memorandum refers)?
A Manx Telecom, which is licensed by the Government of the Isle of Man to provide telecommunications services, has asked the RA to assign 2x10MHz of paired spectrum and 5MHz of unpaired spectrum for 3G. The RA has issued a letter of intent to assign this amount of spectrum from the package identified as Licence A in the UK 3G auction. The details of the licence have yet to be determined. Jersey Telecoms and Guernsey Telecoms have made initial enquiries with respect to the possible assignment of 3G spectrum.
