Has there been any scientific research conducted on Noni juice?

Yes. Dr. Ralph Heinicke is best known for his Noni research that began in the 1950’s while working at the Dole Pineapple Company. He published several articles in scientific journals detailing his findings as he attempted to identify an unknown ingredient found in abundance in the Noni fruit later called Proxeronine and an enzyme Proxeroninase that he discovered to be converted into a newly discovered alkaloid he named Xeronine that is believed to be at the center of the positive medicinal effects in the human body. As Noni has increased in popularity world wide since the mid-nineties, so has the increase in clinical research conducted at the University of Hawaii, in Japan, France and China. Currently, The National Library of Medicine www.pubmed.gov lists 280 published articles and studies on Morinda citrifolia L. (Noni).
