Xylitol was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1963 to be used in food. It’s also endorsed by the World Health Organization’s Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the European Union’s Scientific Committee for Food, and a host of other well-known and well-respected organizations.
