It is impossible to overcome the problem of scarcity. Human wants are endless, and the amount of resources available to satisfy those wants is always limited. Even were that not true, a man's time is always scarce (no man lives forever). So, even if all available goods existed in abundance for all (an impossible condition), a man still would have to select among alternatives, e.g., going to a ball game instead of playing bridge. There is no way to get around that.
