I have been very interested in this study for several reasons. One is because, as you probably read from my previous posts, prior to ever developing bulimia, I felt digestive distress. For me, it just felt like my whole digestive system didn’t work — it felt like it was really slow and stayed in my stomach for longer than it should have. It’s difficult to say whether it was fears and tensions that influenced me to be overly identified with pain in my digestive system — or if the pain in my body created fears and tensions in my mind. The mind-body connection is too complex for me to know for sure — and I highly doubt anyone knows the answer, since studies are still trying to find the answers.
