Hawaiian Instrumental music- ukelele & steel guitar! Where can I find?

You know, I don’t think Jake Shimabukuro ever sings on his ukulele CDs, and he has several. Auwe! I love to watch him perform! He’s in the You tube video I linked below. Da best website for buying Hawaiian music is Mele.com. I’ve linked their steel guitar page below. They also have a concert calendar to see when your favorite artists are coming to your continent. Steel guitar is a little out of fashion these days in Hawaii. Ancient-style Hawaiian chants and contemporary music styles (rap, reggae) intertwined with chants are popular. Reggae (which used to be called “Jawaiian” in these islands) is actually the most popular genre in Hawaii, and few young people listen to anything like alternative or rock. Actually, I went to a school dance about a year ago, and the boys would only dance to reggae, and the girls would only dance to hip-hop! Certain groups like Na Palapalai and ‘O Wai La have young members, but a very traditional sound. More stand-up bass than steel guitar, though.
