Healthy Eating: Why do I experience tiredness and fatigue after eating?
Great question and one which a lot of us have experienced more then once a week. I’ve put together a few tips below that should help. Move baby move! A daily work out will give you more energy, which reduces the effects of after-lunch sleepiness. If you don’t have time to exercise in the morning, try to walk as much as you can going to work and take a 15 mins break in between to go for a brisk walk. The bigger the lunch the more sleepy you will be after! Instead of eating a heavy lunch that your body will have to break down more rapidly, start with a good, large breakfast, and then split your lunch into two light meals. Get the stressful stuff out the way! Since post-lunch sleepiness strikes in the afternoon, plan your work such that you will take care of the stressful stuff in the morning, and easier activities in the afternoon.
