A. Monteleucast is an add-on medicine i.e. to be used along with inhaled steroids and/or beta-agonists (such as terbutaline) when there is inadequate relief. It is not to be used alone and in acute attacks. Unfortunately its side effects include cough and still worse, allergic rhinitis.
