How accurate are the phases of the moon?

0

The phases of the moon are usually within 1 minute of the correct time (but in less than 0.1 % of all calculations, where the moon phase is just around midnight, the wrong date might be displayed). The date is calculated based on a city in the corresponding country and should be correct for the time zone of that city. For countries with many time zones it will soon be possible to select city to calculate the moon phases for. There is also a separate Moon Phase Calculator available, that displays local time in addition to the date.
