There are three groups of Vascular plant = Chronologically= 1 ) Pteridophytes 2 ) Gymnosperms and 3 ) Angiosperms Out of these three, Pteridophytes are flowerless and seedless and angiosperms are flowering and seed bearing . That is how you can distinguish Angiosperms from them. That leaves Gymnosperms and Angiosperms for distinction = Both produce seeds but only Angiosperms produce fruits as well ! These are easily discernible distinctions . There are many more .
