How are cash for futures handled after the contract expires?

Subject to the President’s approval, a transfer of cash merchandise for futures may be permitted during the contract month after termination of the contract. The rule shall not apply to options contracts. Such transfer of cash for futures shall be cleared through the Clearing House in accordance with normal procedures and shall be made at the prices as are mutually agreed upon by the two parties at the transaction.
