How are existential philosophy and phenomenology related?

I might say that the relation to the two studies is thus. While existential Philosophy deals with the issues of actual existence, weather or not things that are, actually are, phenomenology deals with the relation of existence to consciousness, I would say that Phenomenology works with the ideas of the human interface, that which we perceive, while existential philosophy works in concert with that to affirm or deny if the thing that is the object of the human interface, or consciousness, indeed exists and if so to what extent.
