How are Featured Contributors compensated?
All Featured Contributors will receive at least one targeted assignment per category per month, for which they receive a $15 Up-front Payment plus Performance Payments. In addition, most Featured Contributors will receive a steady flow of additional assignments (including beat assignments) from a variety of Yahoo! websites and content partners. The value and quantity of assignments will vary by category and by time period – for example, awards season might mean more assignments for Entertainment writers and there will be an uptick in assignments for writers in the basketball subcategory of Sports during March Madness. While we do not guarantee a specific volume of assignments per month, we expect the number and range of opportunities to increase gradually over time. The more assignments Featured Contributors claim and knock out of the park, the more opportunities they’ll continue to receive.
