How are geometric proofs and logical thinking used in everyday lives/professions?
Being able to think in a logical order is an important skill for any job. You need to be able to see a desired outcome and find the steps to achieve it. Also learning proofs is a creative skill. Most employeres appreciate creativity in their employees. I would think that a doctor needs to be able to think logically. Consider a patient that has an illness. The doctor needs to be able to limit the possibilities of the illness, then they need to figure out what questions to ask or tests to do to figure out what illness the patient has. These methods are like how you figure out what type of quadilateral you have or if two triangles are congruent, you have to go through a process. Computer programmers definitely use higher level mathematics. Many students that do computer science majors end up double majoring in mathematics (they have to take many math courses anyway).
