How are gourmet coffee beans roasted?
Gourmet coffee is roasted in the same types of methods as any traditional black coffee. These methods include air roasting, also called fluid bed roasting, which cooks the coffee beans via hot air streams and compression. It usually takes around 10 minutes and is known to roast evenly and result in a great quality for gourmet coffee. Another type of roasting is called radiant drum roasting. This funny named method uses a glass drum shaped side ways coffee pot to mix up the coffee beans and roast them and can roast up to a pound at a time. There are also other less popular ways such as stove top but in any case the function of roasting is to heat the beans up for the process of eventually turning them into a liquid.
