How are patients selected for transfer to new facilities?
Patients are initially selected for transfer based on the community from which they were originally referred to Riverview Hospital. For example, if a patient is from Kamloops, he or she would be given the first opportunity to transfer to the new Kamloops facility. Other patients, deemed appropriate for transfer, may be approached and offered the opportunity to move to a new facility. Every patient has direct input into the decision to transfer. Family members are also consulted, as appropriate.
