How are reusable shopping bags better for the customer?

Our local grocers sell cloth reusable shopping bags for about 99 cents. They are good for the environment because they can be used over and over sgain. The plastic grocery bags can cause litter and take much longer to biodegrade in the landfills. Personally, I recycle the plastic bags by using them to tie yard brush into bundles for pickup. Other ways: Fill bags with many bags and use them to insulate around my washing machine during freezing weather. Place my Freecycle "offered" items in plastic bags to be picked up by those who request them. Use them when packing shoes and cosmetics in suitcases. So many ways to reuse plastic grocery bags!  more
