How are the General Building Stock building count values derived?
General Building Stock “building counts” are derived from the square footage values which are sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau 2000 and Dun & Bradstreet 2002. It is derived by dividing the square footage by occupancy type by census block/tract by typical square footage (square foot factor by each occupancy) for each occupancy type.
