How are the makeup philosophies in Australia different than here in the States?
In Australia we actually have very different thinking about makeup. There it’s for very natural enhancement. In America it also does some camouflaging and mood correcting. In Australia it’s just to look sunkissed. In America there’s more theater in the makeup. 7. Why did you decide to launch a line here in Vegas? Las Vegas typifies so much of what makeup is about. It’s dramatic, exuberant, it’s fresh, it’s new. It’s like a global metropolis, it has every nationality. And Saks (Fifth Avenue) was available here so I was like, “I’m doing it.” 8. What cosmetic product is the most essential? Primer. Not to prime is a crime. You have to use primer because it will actually fill your skin, make your foundation last longer. It smooths the under eye area, it gives you moisturizer. It also reactivates the ingredients in your skin care as well as the ingredients in your makeup. My primer is called Auto Pilot. 9.
