How Are The Missouri Free Will Baptist Missionaries Supported?
As we think about how a Missionary is supported, we should first give the reasons as to why a person needs financial support to be a missionary. Well, as times change, so do the opportunities to make connections to people. Before 1970 Tent Revivals were very effective in gathering people to hear the Gospel message. In the 1970’s through the 1990’s Bus Ministry was a very effective tool. Today we see the need for one on one contact as the method in reaching people for Christ. Therefore, it is the belief of many in the Free Will Baptist denomination that in order to reach enough people to constitute having a viable congregation of believers, in a reasonable amount of time, that it is in the best interest of the target community that we send a missionary fully employed. By this full-time employment the missionary is able to spend his time in preparing for and participating in various outreach activities.
