How are the nuclear weapons so dangerous?

0

A nuclear bomb is made from radioactive material. When it explodes particles of the radioactive material can spread over a wide area. If you’re close to where the bomb explodes the blast will kill you. Also farther away from the blast area you’d be exposed to the radiation and that causes you to get sick and die eventually. It depends on how much radiation you’re exposed to as to how sick and how soon you’d die. The radiation doesn’t just stop when it reaches a certain perimeter. It can keep traveling on the wind a reach a larger area although the farther it goes from the blast zone it gets weaker.
