How bad does a navel piercing hurt?
OK – I’ve never posted anything until now but I had to respond to this post since I just had mine done last night. I know everyone reacts to pain differently but I found it much, much better than I expected. I had researched every topic under “belly piercing, does it hurt?” and I went in prepared for much worse. It happens so fast that by the time your brain registers anything, it’s done. I have three piercings in my left ear and quite frankly they hurt more than this did. I also figure it depends on who you get to do it. The girl who did mine was excellent. If you think about it, I’m sure most of you have been to doctors who take blood and it’s quick and virtually painless, and some cause so much pain during and afterward you feel sore for days. I think it’s the same thing. Find a good, clean place and remember that it takes a split second and it’s over. When I got mine done it didn’t hurt at all, I mean you do feel it and if it does hurt it only lasts a very short while. Just take very good care of it, and clean every new piericing you get to replace it, I got one at the mall with some friends and was so excited to put it in I didn’t clean it properly I just went to the restroom and cleaned it with a little bit of soap and water and put it in and I got a small infection, that led to other small infections and then migration.. so I eventually had to take mine out. If you get it done I would be sure to keep everything very steril.
