How Beethoven could compose his songs if he was deaf?

0

Well, for starters he was born with hearing and slowly became deaf, so he was able to hear music and hear what sounded good and sounded bad before he went deaf. As he was losing his hearing, he made this invention that basically amplified sounds from the piano when he put it up to his ear. This allowed him to hear a little of what was being played, but probably ended up contributing to his hearing loss in the long run. Most musicians/composers can hear what they want to write in their head. This is how Beethoven composed most of his music, especially once he had gone completely deaf. Because of his previous experiences in music, he could hear it in his head, and write it down. He knew he was writing down the right notes and such, probably because his ear was very well trained and he could take something written in sheet music and hear it in his head. Basically, he was extremely skilled.
