How big are the trees that KIB plants?
All trees that are planted toward KIB’s NeighborWoods goal of 100,000 trees by 2017 are at least 1″ caliper in diameter, and are usually 6 – 12 feet in height. KIB often plants in challenging urban conditions. Trees of 1″ caliper or more have a greater chance of surviving these conditions. Larger trees also make an immediate visual impact on the community.
