How big is Russia compared to the United States?
Russia is the world’s largest country when it comes to actual territory. Russia has about 6.59 million square miles of territory, while the United States has about 3.79 million square miles. Russia is nearly twice the size of the United States in terms of land mass.

In fact, in the Mercator projection, the United States seems to be three times smaller than Russia, but in fact, the width of the United States is literally a couple of thousand kilometers smaller than the Russian Federation.
