How big is the average SSHRC Standard Research Grant budget?

0

SSHRC says that the Standard Research Grant will fund “up to $100,000 per annum, but not totaling more than $250,000 in a three-year period.” Over the past two competitions, the average amount awarded for a SSHRC SRG project has been $82,000 (or, $27,333/yr for three years). Individual awards, however, can be much lower or higher than this. For example, in last year’s competition, an award was made for $223,607 for a team-led dictionary project, while at the other end of the spectrum an award of only $24,290 (total) was approved for a single-researcher literary biography project. Typically, most of the awards fall somewhere in the $60,000-$80,000 range.
