How can a person be fully filled with the Holy Spirit?
The filling of the Holy Spirit comes initially when a person comes to faith in Christ and repentance from ones sins. It is the work of the Holy Spirit in a persons life to be able to do this. We can grieve the Holy Spirit by our sin. This may lead the Spirit of God to discipline us so that we will live holy lives. Our baptism is a picture of being filled with the Holy Spirit, with water sprinkled or poured out on ones head. However, our baptism is not when we are actually filled with the Spirit. Rather, it is when we believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior. The particular filling or anointing of the Spirit may be upon the believer when they actively seek God and seek to do his will. It seems that the Spirit enables believers to do certain tasks, especially in relation to using their spiritual gifts. This enablement is a gift from God that we are to use to build up the body of believers. Our seeking of God and filling by his Spirit comes through study and meditation upon the Word of Go
