How can Ectopic Pregnancy be treated ?

0

Three primary types of treatment are available for an ectopic pregnancy. These include surgical management, medical management, and expectant management. The most common treatment is surgical. Surgical removal of the abnormal pregnancy can be done using laproscopy, also known as key-hole surgery where one or two small incisions are made on the lower abdomen and a laproscope is introduced to remove the abnormal pregnancy. A fallopian tubule ruptured from an ectopic pregnancy may require removal. Less extensive surgery can be done if the ectopic pregnancy is diagnosed earlier before the tube is stretched too much or becomes ruptured. In this case, it may be possible to remove the ectopic pregnancy and repair the tube, allowing it to continue to function. After treating an ectopic pregnancy, it is important to consult your doctor for a continued period of time. Regular hCG checks may be required. An HCG level that remains high could indicate that the ectopic tissue was not entirely remove
