How can I become an awesome outside hitter in volleyball w/ drills that i can in my HOME?
These are a few things that helped me get better that can be done at home: Practice your transitions after you block – it should be a fluid three-step motion back to where you start your spike run up starting with your outside foot first. You can do this at home, it doesn’t require a net or a wall (but these will help!) Practice your spike run up – you can do this in conjunction with the block transition excercise. You can’t work on this at home quite as easily because it’s important to have a good idea of where you are (and where you’re going) on the court. If you have a basketball ring, try your run up and have a swing (a light one!) at the backboard. Work on your block technique – a past setter for the Australian team once told me the best way to improve your block technique is “thumbs to the roof”. So many people stick their fingers straight up and then close the gap – this is a good way to break fingers and look stupid. Remeber to keep your hands angled into the court al little so
