How can I best take care of my newly acquired Hard Wood Floor?
Speaking as a professional who advises people on how to keep their new wood floors as pristine as possible, the best method for cleaning a wood floor is to use a broom to sweep up grit and dirt, and/or a vaccum without a beater bar. If you don’t have the option of turning off your beater bar, use the hose with the brush attachment. Using a professional wood cleaning product on a large mop with a terrycloth cover works very well to remove residual dirt and polish the floors a bit. If you feel the need to damp mop, make sure that the mop has been wrung almost completely dry. Make sure that you have “walk-off” mats at every door way and keep people in high heels, cleats, skates, and strollers off the floor if possible.
