How can I change the default search engine from google.co.uk to google.com or any other local version of google?

I’m living abroad at the moment and the results from google.co.uk are not very useful at the moment I’d like to change that but can’t find where, every time I use the search bar in safari I end up with UK results in google.co.uk, even if I search in another language..
