well…tricky as most explained. If your hair dye is lighter your highlights will dye the color you use. But because your highlights are already lighter they will be lighter than your base color and the results may be a nicer blended lighter overall color….then next time just do your roots and your stylist can do regular highlights over the new base color.

No can do, dye cant lighten hair thats already been dyed dark when you went to the salon the first time you should of had them bleachout out the dark and redyed it lighter, nothing you can do, do not dye over you highlights!

Try to put each of your dry highlights into foil or somthing and then dye the rest of your hair. Then after rinse all of the dye out of your hair CAREFULLY whil holking up the highlightsout of the water and wash the dye out good and dry ti quickly. Hope I helped!!!

If you can figure out a way you need to come into the field of hair color! You said it you paid a lot for these highlights and if you put a color over it not only will you ruin the highlights you will end up with a different color all over….
