How can I establish a productive and secure workplace for staff?
A team that works collaboratively and harmoniously, using its diversity as a strength, can have a positive effect on productivity. New staff should not be expected to simply assimilate into an agency’s culture or to reflect the status quo or the agency’s image. This would lead to little benefit from diversity. Rather, managers should aim to: • ensure that staff understand the culture of their new workplace and are aware of the agency’s core values and business objectives • recognise and value the knowledge and new perspectives of staff and consider how this can contribute to the agency’s goals.
