Hi there. Good question as I'm in the same frame of mind. Selling things on Ebay is a good idea, but in terms of making things and selling them depends on how good you are with your hands. If you are building bird tables, bird houses etc is a good idea. You can get info off the internet for bird houses and bat boxes that people who are nature conscious about their gardens will buy. I have also heard of people offering a home ironing service where you iron for people at a particular rate per item which is a good idea (depending on how much you like ironing).Hope this helps.
