How can I fix my Zanussi Washing Machine ZWF1632W?
We have had a Zanussi washing machine, ZWF1632W, for 18 months. Washing takes approximately one hour, rinsing about 40 minutes and spinning about 15 minutes. Yesterday it took considerably longer. The washing alone took nearly two hours. Normally the drum turns one way, then stops for a few seconds and then turns in the opposite direction and so on. Yesterday the stops were much longer, up to five minutes. There were similar delays at the rinse stage but it eventually completed the operation successfully. We tried it again today but the same problem persisted. I noticed that each time the drum started to turn again there was a short noise immediately before it started as though it had tried to start, failed and then succeeded. At one point, after about an hour and a half, the machine stopped and the display returned to what it was at the beginning.
