How Can I Get A PAL Signal To Work On An NTSC Television?

The cheapest option probably involves running the signal through your computer. I’m sure that there’s a Linux program out there that will do it for free + twelve zillion hours reading FAQs, recompiling your kernel, downloading new drivers, etc. The cheapest I found to buy was $24 used and $50 new, but that’s so much lower than other devices that I’m kind of suspicious. The review says that the quality is pretty poor, and if you’re looking to put it on a 52″ projection TV you might as well have good quality. The going rate appears to be more in the $175 and up range. I suspect that the more expensive devices produce less lag, which is probably better for video games. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find either at amazon.co.uk. so you may have to have it shipped over from the states. That gives you an idea of the going rates, though. I don’t know where in the UK you are, but I found in London every third shop seemed to be an electronics shop offering such devices.

Use a Dvd or video player to route the signal through – if the DVD/video player has a 60hz NTSC output and a line in feed, then it will automatically convert the signal – failing that, you can buy a stand alone converter for about £20 via eBay.
