How can i get an A* star in GCSE English?
1) For comprehension: Read deeper into existing paragraphs. Like if there is a sentence that goes “70% of party animals refuse to go to any parties that have less than 75 people in it” Don’t just accept the sentence as it is. Think of the statistic you’ve been given and think of the other 30%, think of the connotations and meaning of a ‘party animal’. BASICALLY, read deep into stuff and don’t go by their surface meaning. Also, draw links to personal knowledge, give personal opinions, draw links to another non fiction comprehension if you’ve been given it and always think of deep meanings and connotations for EVERYTHING! 2) For creative: You can easily up yourself to an A* by using good vocab in inform, explain, describe (make a list of good words and learn what they mean and try to use an occasional one in your writing just to make it look good).
