How can I get rid of the pesky gnats which appeared in my large office after we decorated by bringing in quite a few beautiful plants?
Those pests are fungus gnats that are living on the decaying organic materials in the soil masses of your new plants. Since they thrive in very moist soils, avoid overwatering. If the soil surfaces are allowed to dry somewhat, you should see a reduction in the gnat population. If this trick doesn’t solve your problem, move your plants into a well-ventilated area, and spray the soil surfaces with a pyrethroid insecticide. If the gnats still persist, replace your plants with silk look-alikes.
