How can I Potty Train my Alexandrine Parrot?
I trained my parrot by paying close attention to how often she went.She seemed to average every 15 minutes or so.I also noticed how she acted,what she did before pottying.I then started holding her over a garbage can when she “acted” like she had to go.I also said “go pot”(go potty) every time she went.Even when she wasn’t on me,I said it.When she did go pot,I praised her for doing it.And gave her a treat.She learned pretty fast to say “go pot”when she had to go.She would climb on my finger to be held over the garbage can to “go pot”. People thought it was coolest thing for a bird to tell me she had to go potty before pottying. If a bird eats or drinks something,they will go potty in as little as 1 minute sometime. Pay close attention to his habits before pottying.Mine would look down at what the poop would land on and turn a circle before going. It will take some time and diligence on your part for it to work.But,it can be done.
