1. Jos van Eijndhoven wrote a utility called poster. The latest version is here: http://www.gnu.org/directory/print/postscript/poster.html (That version introduced a bug, but I have just reported a fix, so I assume it will be corrected – contact me if you have problems.) 2. There is a Perl module called Postscript::Poster which is based on an older version of the above utility. Find it on CPAN. 3. epssplit does basically the same thing as poster, except on eps files: http://home.clara.net/nox/software/epssplit/. Here’s one user’s detailed instructions on how to use it: http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~gw115/tips.html. The best Google search that turned up much advice: “postscript split poster”. You could also just produce a PDF file with a great big paper size, and then take it to a printer that accepts great big paper. We might have a service on campus that does this (some departments make lots of posters), and Kinko’s probably does it too.
