How can I remove old limescale from bathroom taps please?
The best deal is to not let lime scale build in the first place. Begin drying your faucets and sink off every time you use it. I keep a microfiber cloth close to the sink. It is very absorbent and makes drying the faucet and sink quick and easy (Seriously less than 10 seconds). Chemical Cleaners like CLR will work but you really don’t need them if water never dries on the surface. All lime, all soap scum and all mildew comes from evaporating water drops. Wipe those drops up and you never have any of those issues. I have faucets that have been installed for several years that have never been scrubbed or had a cleanser on them, and they look like I just installed them today – perfectly clean, with a mirror finish. If you start drying them even with lime scale still in place, it might take a few months but the scale will start to diminish on it’s own. Eventually the faucet will be clean and will stay clean forever. I’m serious about this. Just try it and you will see. (while you are at it
