Things You'll Need Dryer Dryer sheets 1 - Step OnePlace garment in the dryer. Place one or more dryer sheets inside of dryer according to strength of smoke smell, using more dryer sheets for a stronger smoke smell. Turn on the dryer. 2 - Step TwoTumble garment with dryer sheets for about one minute. Take out and smell. If the smoke smell is still there repeat step #1.
