Cut down gradually. It’ll take your system a few days to get past the difficulty in getting to sleep without your usual amount, but you can do it if you really want to. You might go online and look up “alcoholism” and/or “quit drinking” and/or “symptoms of alcohol abuse” and see what you can find that might help you. Then, make a decision, tough it out until you’re over the bad symptoms, and redirect your life one day at a time–just like they tell you. This is part physical, part emotional, and part self-determination. You can achieve this goal if you really want to because you’ll seek whatever help is necessary.
