How can I tone up my Latissimus Dorsi a.k.a. “Lats”?
While your lats are the most dominant muscle in the back (they cover from top to bottom), they may not be the only back muscles you need to work to achieve your desired results. The traditional exercise for lats is the lat pull down which can be done in a variety of ways. Try asking someone at your gym, cause it’s hard to describe exercises on paper. You should also work your low back muscles. This can be done a variety of ways including dead lift (be careful, if not done correctly you can injure your back) and a hanging low back exercise where you hang, then lift your body back up into a straight line. Some of your issues may also be helped by working your obliques (side abs) since they wrap around slightly and help give that tapered waist look.
