How can I use the oscilloscope connections on the FS4200 to monitor the 1394 differential pair signals?
A. The maximum speed that the FS4200 can monitor is 400 MHZ. This will probably require a 1 GHZ BW scope (like an Agilent Infinium) to probe the signals. The user can use a cable that is a BNC to SMA with a 50 ohm load at the BNC connector. You will will need to set the input impedance of the scope to 50 ohms. One note of caution: probing at the SMA connector provides one load beyond the 1394 specification.
