How can one overcome feelings of insecurity and negativity?

Well, meditation does work for some people if they are able to implement it effectively, but truth be told I don’t think it’s for everyone either (Not for me either). Some people find other coping mechanisms to sort of overcome feelings of insecurity or negative thinking other than meditation. It’s different strokes for different folks IMO. What I’d usually do is whenever I have a negative thought, or an insecurity, I’d write it down somewhere; just writing down the situation does help. Then, I’d write down the initial thoughts that come to mind associated with the situation itself since a lot of times when we’re faced with a situation, we tend to have a lot of self-depricating thoughts. Then, I’d identify those negative thoughts and determine the source of those thoughts. Next. I challenge those thoughts by writing down some evidence in the past (or occurrences) that challenge those thoughts. Then, I’d come up with an alternative way of thinking to sort of counteract those thoughts. Y
